PNP training school exec shoots self in Cebu

Instead of shedding light on a homicide case, an administrator of a regional police training facility in Cebu shot himself dead inside his quarters late Monday afternoon. Radio dzBB reported Monday night that the victim, Arnulfo Pulma, shot himself in the mouth with a 9-mm pistol after police tried to serve a subpoena on him for the death of his live-in partner last week. Pulma, a non-uniformed personnel, was chief of the administration section of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Training School in Central Visayas. The incident took place at about 4 p.m. inside the training school grounds, when the Cebu City Police Office homicide section served a subpoena for him. Homicide investigators were looking into the death of Pulma's live-in girlfriend, initially identified as Jeanne Agcun. Initial reports indicated that when Pulma was told he was being served a subpoena, he went to his sleeping quarters. A gunshot was then heard from inside his quarters. When police rushed in, they saw Pulma lifeless on the ground, having appeared to have shot himself in the mouth. Police recovered a 9-mm pistol, an empty 9-mm shell and what appeared to be a suicide note at the crime scene. - GMANews.TV
